We built it because we needed it.
MainLodge started as the software behind one training club. It became a product when we realised how many studios were fighting the same three problems we were.
SkyTechSport builds ski and snowboard simulators. To show them working, we opened Home Mountain Ski Club in Los Angeles — a training studio with two simulators, a gym, a recovery lounge, private coaching, and a small-group class on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
We ran it on well-regarded studio software. It did most of the job. But three things never fit, and the vendor wouldn't build them:
- Paying instructors per lesson. Most of our sessions rang up at $0 because members had paid weeks earlier. Software that pays on sales couldn't see them. Payroll lived in a spreadsheet.
- Classes and appointments together. The software did one or the other. We faked a weekly class by inventing a pretend room.
- Knowing where clients came from. Influencers brought most of our new members. We couldn't tell which post brought in a single one.
So we wrote the software we wished existed — for a business where people book time with a coach and a room, in whatever mix the week demands. MainLodge runs Home Mountain today. It is being built into a product for studios like ours: personal training, Pilates and group fitness, recovery, coaching, and — of course — simulator training facilities anywhere in the world.
MainLodge was originally built to power modern training facilities using SkyTechSport simulators. If you run one, it's the recommended way to run it.

Export everything, any time. We left a system that made leaving hard, and we won't be one.

Booking, check-in and checkout are measured in clicks. If a feature slows the desk down, it doesn't ship.
